What if NFT owners could fully immerse themselves in the metaverse they create?
Orbstellar Metaspace:
Immersive Retail Space & Art Exhibition
NFT, Game, Immersive Galaxy Installations
2022 / Pacific Place, Admiralty, Hong Kong
The Orbstellar: Metaspace exhibition explores the possibilities that emerge when NFT ownership grants participants the ability to fully immerse themselves in and shape the works they help create. The participatory approach and immersive technologies reimagine what it means to conceive, own, and experience non-fungible tokens as art.
To create an inviting yet private atmosphere, the shop front is designed to be partially blocked, so as to arouse curiosity about the futuristic-themed space within.
To induce customers to first obtain coins for NFT access, an entrance station anchors the open interior showcasing souvenirs and phototaking space windows, thereby creating an engaging backdrop for the experience.
At the entrance to the exhibition, visitors are greeted by a futuristic galactic hub inviting them to embark on an interstellar journey. To participate in the co-creative process, visitors purchase an empty NFT coin like a space ticket that grants them access to shape and share in the galactic art experience.

NFT Art Factory
Space Game Station
With access granted via NFT coins, visitors discover an area featuring minerals and rocks for appreciating, playing and learning from. Visitors accumulate specific specimens within their personal web app collection by scanning QR codes or unlocking mission rewards.
The intuitive web app interface allows visitors to populate their personal collection, and combine elements to conceive unique NFT planets.
In the center game station, visitors play two space mission games where they earn special and rare minerals as rewards.
Arranged throughout the space, physical mineral specimens also provide tactile examples to create a multi-sensory experience.
Interactive games grant visitors a taste of the galaxy's mysteries while providing an engaging means to build more personal NFTs through collection of virtual objects.
A moonwalking simulation on a satellite provides rewards of lunar rocks for visitors to incorporate into their personalized NFT planets upon completion.
A flying experience lets visitors navigate an asteroid field to capture meteoroids, accruing rare elements to incorporate into their envisioned NFT planets.
The immersive mirror room presents the NFT galaxy nebula as a work in progress, adapting its visual progression stage by stage through alignment with user planets, empowering visitors to contribute to the collectively authored work of art.
Galaxy Co-creation Mirror Room
The mirror gallery visualization serves as a canvas upon which the collective NFT galaxy comes to life through the contributions of viewers.
As visitors conceive and select their planets with specific emphases - some accentuating interstellar planetary communication.
others desiring nebula formations resembling those within the human brain - the gallery shifts through staged visual evolutions.
By enhancing planets with digital minerals, visitors transform the galactic ecosystem and the room reflects the sum of all viewer input.
At the end of the journey, visitors mint their most meaningful moments and virtual artifacts as singular NFT artworks on the Orbstellar blockchain, forever embedding their contributions within this collaborative artistic vision.

What if a music video fosters a sense of community and connection?
Orbstellar Series:
Stellar Moments of Humankind
Music Video and 360° VR Metaverse
2022 / Hong Kong
Inspired by the literature "Stellar Moments of Humankind", the song captures pivotal moments in the lives of great figures who changed humanity. We aimed to frame the project as more than a music video - an entire 360° VR universe where fans can recreate these "stellar moments".
Therefore, in this project, we have the music video itself under XR production to visualize the themes of the song, and the 360° VR part for fans and NFT owners to fully immerse themselves within the virtual worlds inspired by the lyrics.
Music Video & XR Production
We designed multiple environments within Unreal Engine to represent different themes in the song's lyrics - a starry night sky, floating nebulae, shining planets - all illuminating the "truth" and "love" at the core of existence.
During production, the singer stood on a motion-activated LED stage that showed him the virtual worlds in real time.
Real-time graphics were tracked and composited into the scenes, allowing the singer to fully immerse himself as he sang and acted.
The immersive 360° VR Metaverse gives fans and NFT owners alike a chance to fully experience Orbstellar's song "Stellar Moments of Humankind" from within a virtual world. The 360° VR experience acts as a metaverse for bringing together the artist's fanbase and creating a shared virtual space for community.
360° VR Metaverse
We used a full 3D scanning sensor array to digitally reproduce the singer and other performers within the metaverse.
Their avatars mimic their likeness and movements in real time, allowing fans to experience an even more immersive and impactful performance through the avatars.
Within the experience, users can submit their own planets and texts to contribute to the metaverse, enriching the virtual world and sharing with other participants throughout the travel. The metaverse serves as a collective stage where fans unite through shared wonder, appreciation and creativity. By participating in building this virtual universe together, NFT owners and fans forge connections that transcend the isolated ownership of static digital assets.
They are also provided an avatar customization page to access their avatar's traits, aesthetic, and online identity.
Avatars can then travel through the virtual storyscapes depicting pivotal moments in the lives of story characters in the music video universe.

Floating Waves AR - Where the river sings
An Augmented Reality Public Sculpture
2021 / Viva! River, Red Bridge, Tuen Mun, Hong Kong
Tuen Mun River has flowed through history for centuries, inspiring ancient poets from the Tang Dynasty to write poems such as "Songs of Floating Waves" and "Poem on Farewell".
The artwork "Floating Waves" brings together the physical and virtual worlds, bridging the past and present through a combination of kinetic glass sculpture and augmented reality that replicates the dynamic rolling waves and ambient sounds described in those ancient poems.
A kinectic sculpture invites participants to spin the waves and embark on a virtual journey, exploring the stunning riverscape and immersing themselves in the ambient sounds and visual ripples.

Labels On Self = Stereotypes Or Selves Reimagined? Leveraging AI to transcend labels.
Sentient Mirror
Participatory AI Art: Self-Portrait Generation
2023 / The Box, Freespace, Art Park, West Kowloon Cultural District, Hong Kong
"We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world."
Sentient Mirror explores the power of social labeling and stereotyping through a participatory interactive art approach.
Labels and assumptions based on external factors like race, gender, age, and appearance shape how we understand and interact with one another. By collecting labels from audiences and generating visual interpretations through AI, this project targets to make these unseen social mechanisms visible and tangible.
Next, in the center installation, labels from the database are composited onto new audiences' self images. It creates opportunities for self-reflection, questioning of preconceived notions, and re-imagining of self and other.
This process can potentially cultivate empathy, disrupt stereotyping, and provide an opportunity for personal and social progress through heightened self and social awareness.
Three distinct stable diffusion models are used in the program to generate diverse representations that illustrate different aspects of identities.
The "cyberpunk" model produces futuristic imagery that highlights the evolving, technology-mediated nature of self; the "mythology" model reveals timeless facets through ancient archetypes; and composites from mixed datasets uncover complexity and multiplicity.
These varied AI visions aim to stimulate divergent forms of self-reflection and reimagining that challenge narrow conceptions of identity.
